Holofiber Garments Sell Out!
Tony Mazzenga, CEO of Wickers, Inc., has exactly the kind of
start-to-finish operation that lets them
see very quickly just how successful a product might be. In
the case of Holofiber garments, Wickers produced a first cutting
in preparation for an online sales launch that was completely
sold out within two days after The New York Times December 22
story about Holofiber hit the stands. Despite the Times reference
to the high cost of Wickers’ $75.00 Holofiber tee-shirts,
there was absolutely no price resistance. Mazzenga admits that
they really "underestimated the demand" and Holofiber
products are back-ordered until a second cutting arrives at
the end of January. Wickers is already getting re-orders.
"There is no way yet to estimate just how much volume this
product will sell," said Mazzenga. "Customers are
willing to wait, and we are working on adding new styles. The
very idea that something could sell out that quickly in that
volume in two days on a product that never, ever, even existed
before is incredible. We’re ecstatic!"
Wickers, which prides itself on its high quality made-in-America
product, is another Holofiber pioneer, as well as a very successful
online merchant. Visit www.wickers.com
