Holofiber and lifestyle legwear maker Arriva joined
forces at the Toronto Marathon, sponsoring the annual race
and attending the pre-race Expo. Together, they distributed
thousands of pairs of
Holofiber socks and wristbands,
helping provide relief to marathon
runners, who reported
having more energy and less
blisters and pain both during and
after the race.
“Since the race, we’ve been
getting feedback from as far
away as Nova Scotia and
California from people who were
wearing the socks,” said
Andrew Wells, sales and brand
manager, Arriva Lifestyle
Legwear. “They’re telling us they
ran their personal bests and
shaved as much as 15 minutes
off their time. A man who wore
the socks showed up at our factory
and demanded we sell him six
pairs of socks. He’d been running
marathons for years and said
that for the first time, he didn’t
have to soak his sore feet in ice
they were fine.”
“With our products we offer
a money-back guarantee, and
we have yet to have a single pair
returned,” noted Wells. “I ran the
half-marathon, and Holofiber
carried me through.”
Continued Wells, “One day
at the Expo, a 78-year old
marathon volunteer told us his
wife had crippling arthritis in her
hands so we gave him Holofiber
wristbands for her. The next day,
he came back and told us she
was able to move her hands
again. That’s what we find
compelling about Holofiber.”
TEAM HOLOFIBER captain
Lawrence Foster, who joined
Holofiber and Arriva at the
Toronto Marathon Expo, noted “We had 10,000 people come
through the booth before the
race and we spoke to at least
4,000 or 5,000 of them. On race
day, it seemed like every single
person was wearing Holofiber
wristbands.”
